Can Stem Cell Therapy help Repair a Freshly Torn Rotator Cuff Injury

Bay Colony Chiropractic - Rotator Cuff Injury

Greetings once again from your friends at Bay Colony Chiropractic serving all of Galveston County, Texas and the surrounding area.  We produce podcasts and blogs as a public service to educate the general public about how and why Americans increasingly include chiropractic care in their pain management plan.  Today’s blog post addresses how stem cell therapy may be your non-surgical solution to rotator cuff injuries.

We invite you to listen and read along with Dr. Sanders as today she discusses stem cell therapy can help those with torn rotator cuffs.

Narrator:   Welcome to the “Regenerative Wellness Podcast with Dr. Sanders”.  I’m Darren Kincaid along with Dr. Donna Sanders from Bay Colony Chiropractic here in Dickinson, Texas.  Dr. Sanders has been practicing chiropractic care for over 30 years staying on the forefront of the most comprehensive and advanced chiropractic care techniques available today. This podcast is dedicated to educating the people of Galveston County and the surrounding area on how to live younger, stronger, and better lives. The topic of today’s podcast is: “Can Stem Cell Therapy Help Repair a Freshly Torn Rotator Cuff Injury”?

Well alright, Dr. Sanders in our last episode I walked away in awe of the amazing results you achieve in helping knee patients recover from acute and chronic injuries. My head is still buzzing from what you talked about. Today I thought it’d be insightful to hear about other maladies. How about we discuss shoulders. Can stem cell therapy help with acute injury such as a torn rotator cuff?

Dr. Sanders: Yes, Darren, as I’ve spoken before stem cells are automatically attracted to anything that has inflammation or degeneration. So in the case of an acute rotator cuff tear, they will attract directly to that area. When we inject stem cells in that area, they go there and they stimulate the cells to start regenerating and to prevent scar tissue. It’s pretty amazing.

We had a patient that had fallen pretty badly and tore three muscles in her rotator cuff. We did MRI, I tried to get her to see an orthopedic surgeon but her insurance was taking a long time. We were helping her with physical therapy and chiropractic. We started doing stem cell therapy. I said this thing is just a month out why don’t we go ahead and inject stem cells into the shoulder.  This lady, she is not one to take meds but she could not even go five hours without taking at least two Aleve’s. She was really in a lot of pain.  If she even laughed or giggled it just buckled her knees it was so bad and awful to watch. Literally after we injected the stem cells she left the building in zero pain. She has never taken another Aleve. She is getting back her full range of motion. I can’t wait to see the follow-up MRI.

Narrator: That’s something Dr. Sanders. What about chronic shoulder injuries. I lit up my shoulders about 25 years ago and it is something that I’ve just learned to deal with. Can stem cells help with something like that as well?

Dr. Sanders: Yes. We’ve had quite a few patients who have had shoulder injuries and have had surgery on them. They had therapy and the shoulder was frozen. They were still in a lot of pain.  We could see where the shoulder was degenerated. In each case the injections has helped reduce the inflammation, decrease the pain, and to also give them more range of motion in the shoulder so they’re using it again. We had a couple of them re-xray’d again and the joint space is now actually normal joint space. So we know they’re in there healing those tendons and ligaments. The stem cells go in there anywhere where the area is inflamed or degenerated and deliver relief.

Narrator: Wow, that is so amazing, Dr. Sanders.  It is so great to hear that there are alternatives to shoulder injury.  I hear that recovery from shoulder surgery is just an awful experience.

Dr. Sanders: Oh, I know. I’ve had quite a few patients and even my own sister have it. That was the worst healing experience I had to watch.

Narrator:  It sounds to me like it is just a good idea to try before you go through something that dramatic.

Dr. Sanders: I say regenerate before you operate.

Narrator: That’s a great slogan. Once again Dr. Sanders, thanks once again for giving us insight into all there is to know about stem cells.  If you have a chronic physical condition and are ready to live a more pain-free life, or, if you would like more information on the power of regenerative wellness, please visit or call Dr. Sanders at (281) 337-3337.
